Are you a qualified electrician? Do you have experience within a Heavy Industrial environment? Are you based in or around Corby? We are supporting TATA Steel with a permanent opportunity for an Electrical Craft Team Member to join their Corby works. Corby works are undergoing substantial investment and development to drive the organisation's mission of being a sustainable steel provider. The successful applicant will be a time served Electrician who has worked in heavy industry, carrying out maintenance craft work.
Role: Electrician (Electrical Craft)
Location: TATA Steel, Weldon Rd, Corby NN17 5UA
Rate: £36,779 - £37,586 per annum (£31,982 basic plus 15% shift allowance, rising to £32,684 plus 15% shift allowance after probation)
Shifts: Rotating pattern of days, lates and nights Mon-Fri.
Start: ASAP but pending the successful result of a medical assessment. (This does include a drug and alcohol test)
Responsibilities:
- Ensuring the smooth operation of electrical systems across the plant
- Performing planned and reactive maintenance to minimize downtime
- Troubleshooting relay control circuits, AC/DC motors, and various types of drives
- Conducting basic PLC fault finding on Siemens S7 300, 1200, and 1500 systems
- Reading and interpreting electrical drawings and working with computerized maintenance management systems (MMS)
- Contributing to plant reliability and efficiency by identifying and implementing improvement projects
- Adhering to strict Health and Safety protocols and SSOW
- Supporting with improvement initiatives within the department
Essential requirements:
- Qualified Electrician who has completed a time served apprenticeship
- Previous experience (2+ years) within a Heavy Industrial environment
- Ability to be fully flexible and adhere to the shift pattern
- Driving Licence and access to own vehicle (due to the shifts)
- Experience with low voltage systems, drives and PLC's
- Ability to fault find and conduct root cause failure analysis
- Familiarity with SAP or equivalent system
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Strong knowledge of UK Health and Safety legislation
- 18th edition (desirable)
