About the Role
We are seeking a proactive and experienced Electrically biased EHS Advisor to join our clients team on a major infrastructure project. This is a site-based role where you will be the first point of contact for all Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) matters within your designated scope of works. You will play a key role in ensuring compliance with EHS standards, supporting operational teams, and promoting a strong safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits
- Support the development and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS)
- Actively intervene and report when unsafe practices are observed
- Deliver EHS inductions, toolbox talks, and briefings
- Assist in emergency preparedness planning and drills
- Lead or support incident investigations and reporting
- Ensure compliance with site-specific EHS plans and procedures
- Liaise with contractors and stakeholders to ensure coordinated EHS efforts
- Promote and model adherence to Life Saving Rules and Zero Harm initiatives
Essential Requirements
- NEBOSH National General Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent)
- Minimum 5 years of EHS experience on large-scale construction projects
- Strong knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation and construction site practices
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
- Fluent in English (written and spoken)
- Current CCNSG Safety Passport (or willingness to obtain post-offer)
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- ISO45001 Internal Auditor certification
- First Aid at Work qualification
- Experience in large electrical installations
- Recognised training in incident investigation, manual handling, PASMA, or IPAF
