Overview: We are seeking an experienced Robot Welder Operator to join our busy and well-established manufacturing team in Coventry. This is a full-time, temp-to-perm position working on high-quality chassis and structural components for the automotive aftermarket. The ideal candidate will have proven experience operating robotic welding cells, ensuring precision, consistency, and quality output. You'll play a key role in supporting our trusted supply chain by programming, monitoring, and maintaining robotic welders in a fast-paced production environment.
Key Duties:
- Operate and monitor robotic welding equipment to produce chassis and structural assemblies.
- Set up and adjust welding robots and associated machinery to meet production schedules.
- Work from technical drawings, work instructions, and programming to ensure weld accuracy and quality.
- Conduct pre-weld and post-weld inspections, identifying and resolving defects or deviations.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of welding robots and ancillary equipment.
- Maintain a clean, safe working environment in compliance with company health and safety policies.
- Collaborate closely with the wider production team to optimise workflow and minimise downtime.
- Report production progress, issues, and maintenance needs to supervisors promptly.
Key Requirements:
- Proven experience operating robotic welding cells, ideally in automotive or heavy fabrication environments.
- Strong understanding of welding processes, including MIG welding and robotics programming.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and welding specifications.
- High attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality welds.
- Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
- Physically fit and comfortable working in a manufacturing setting.
- Reliable, punctual, and committed to working consistent hours.
