Location: Cardiff, UK
As a Senior Architect, you will develop the biometric solutions strategy across all value streams in the HID PACS Business Area. Your focus will be on solution architecture and design for embedded, desktop, cloud, and mobile solutions with an emphasis on security and privacy by design. This role involves achieving efficient and rapid continuous integration and deployment across multiple systems within a technology ecosystem. You will collaborate with other architects to define systems, products, and architecture supporting these focus areas, interacting with engineering teams, product/program management, and stakeholders to align on solutions and develop architectural roadmaps.
HID’s Physical Access Control Solutions Department focuses on growth by leveraging the latest card and reader technologies to address security challenges, including authentication, card subsystems, encoding, Biometrics, and location services.
As our Senior Architect Biometric Solution, you will:
- Collaborate with architects to ensure subsystem integration into a holistic product ecosystem.
- Participate in planning events, workshops, and demonstrations.
- Reduce inter-team dependencies through technology stacks and APIs.
- Drive technical alignment in a multidisciplinary environment.
- Coordinate and support technology implementations.
- Provide guidance in design reviews.
- Promote continuous improvement and agile practices.
- Establish best engineering practices during development.
Desired Background:
- Strong logic and reasoning skills for PACS systems.
- Excellent IT skills, including hardware, software, and networking.
- Ability to handle complex tasks independently.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Good communication, judgment, and analytical skills.
Experience and Education:
- Bachelor’s in Computer Science or Engineering.
- At least ten years of professional experience supporting product development.
- Proven software development experience in large-scale solutions.
- Experience creating specifications for communication, data persistence, SOA, and related stacks.
- Experience in physical access control, PIV, FIPS201, and biometric solutions is advantageous.
