Our client is currently seeking an experienced Residential Building Surveyor for a contract position. This role involves extensive building contract administration, preparation of legal contract tender documentation, specification, supervision, and monitoring of capital contracts for Council-owned housing. Additionally, you will carry out inspections of void and tenanted properties to agree on work specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct feasibility studies and stock condition surveys, preparing specifications and schedules of works for potential remedial works.
- Provide regular updates on capital budget expenditures and service performance, maintaining financial and statistical records for all capital works including special projects.
- Monitor and supervise contractors to ensure effective and efficient delivery of work/contracts.
- Prepare and present regular progress and performance reports following monthly contract meetings.
- Handle customer complaints, taking necessary actions to resolve issues.
- Identify properties and schemes for future planned maintenance, including conducting stock condition surveys.
- Conduct pre and post-inspections of void properties, preparing detailed schedules of works for contractors and obtaining necessary quotations as per Council Corporate Procurement Rules.
- Carry out surveys of specialist projects/works, compiling information to assist in the preparation of specifications and other contract documents.
