Our client is seeking a Control Panel Test Engineer.

This role ensures a consistent testing process to verify the operational functionality, safety, and quality of control panels assembled by the manufacturing team. It also guarantees compliance with design specifications, equipment standards, and operational safety regulations. The company manufactures a diverse range of control panels for various industries, including large-scale batch production and unique one-off designs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Inspect completed panels to ensure compliance with design specifications, equipment standards, and safety regulations.
  • Conduct point-to-point testing of electrical components, including low-voltage switchgear testing (up to 415V AC, 3-phase supplies).
  • Perform functionality and operational testing of control panels against design specifications.
  • Identify and resolve faults within control panel builds, performing rework as necessary in accordance with departmental SOPs.
  • Utilise appropriate tools and equipment while adhering to company safety policies and departmental guidelines.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and safe workspace across all areas of the department.
  • Provide guidance to the controls production team to support the build process.
  • Document any changes or deviations from work instructions identified during construction.
  • Ensure the safe use of electrical testing equipment.
  • Complete electronic and paper-based documentation to maintain accurate testing records.
  • Log testing and inspection stages, including time tracking, within the MRP system.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in electrical control panel testing, with a background in control panel wiring.
  • Strong knowledge of electrical systems and components.
  • Excellent fault diagnosis and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to liaise confidently with customers.

Monday – Thursday: 06:30 – 15:30 Friday: 07:00 – 12:00
