About The Role & Who We’re Scouting

We’re on the lookout for a passionate and skilled Soft Tissue Therapist to join our team at LCWFC. Reporting into the Head of Medicine, the role has split responsibilities across the Women’s First Team and Academy, providing hands-on soft tissue and support services to the First Team, while also leading on therapy provision for Academy players — particularly the U18 age group. The role will focus on the delivery of high-quality soft tissue therapy, assessment, treatment and rehabilitation for players across all age groups, provide pitch-side medical support during training and fixtures, and positive collaboration with the wider multi-disciplinary team. The ideal candidate will meet certain criteria and hold specific qualifications in order for them to be successful within the role:

  • Essential criteria for the role includes:
  • BSc in Sports Therapy, Physiotherapy, or a related discipline (or final year pending qualification).
  • Eligibility for appropriate professional registration (SST, HCPC, CSP, or equivalent).
  • Experience providing pitchside care and soft tissue treatment in a sport setting.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work with young athletes.
  • Flexible approach to working hours, including evenings and weekends.
  • Desirable criteria for the role includes:
  • Previous experience working in women’s sport or football academy settings.
  • FA Level 5 ATMMiF or equivalent pitchside qualification.
  • Familiarity with athlete management systems and treatment documentation platforms.
  • Demonstrable interest in female athlete health and development pathways.

About The Club

Knowing some of the history of LCWFC helps you appreciate the sense of community, spirit and family for which the Club are renowned for. In May 2021, LCFC Women were promoted to the FA Women’s Super League. From its formation in 2004, the Club was run on an amateur and semi-professional basis with support from Leicester City Football Club. In August 2020, the Club turned professional after being acquired by King Power International – Leicester City’s parent company – and realigned as a core team in Leicester City’s football operation.
