Allied World Assurance Company, Ltd. seeks an individual to fill the position of Senior Actuarial Pricing Analyst. The successful candidate will be expected to provide actuarial support on individual account pricing and project work for all underwriting departments across Europe, with the position being located in Allied World’s London office.
Responsibilities Include:
- Support actuarial pricing reviews across all lines of insurance under moderate supervision.
- Lines of business written from the European offices and through Lloyd’s include property, casualty, professional lines, medical malpractice, marine and onshore construction.
- Research and update various pricing parameters used within our pricing models such as increased limits factors, loss trend factors, underlying loss costs per unit of exposure, etc.
- Perform annual portfolio reviews across all class of business written through Europe, Asia and the Lloyd’s Syndicate.
- Work closely with underwriters on individual account pricing and to improve usability and accuracy of the pricing models.
- Help build and maintain pricing models in Excel and Rulebook.
- Any other duties as assigned by manager.
Education, Skills and Experience:
The successful applicant will preferably have the following:
- 3 – 5 years of experience as an actuary, preferably London Market Pricing insurance or reinsurance.
- Partly to nearly/newly qualified as a Fellow for the IFoA or of another well-established actuarial organisation.
- Bachelor’s degree in mathematics, statistics or related field.
- Proficient with Excel.
- Experience using Rulebook, SAS, R, VBA and GLM modeling would be beneficial.
- Strong analytical and communication skills.
- Ability to learn quickly.
- Strong ethics and integrity.
