Nursery Finance Manager

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Finance Manager to join our team. Your role will support a family-run group of 7 children’s nurseries in the North West region; the Atherton House Nursery Group. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing financial records, ensuring accuracy in accounts, and maintaining compliance with financial regulations. This role requires proficiency in accounting software and a strong understanding of accounts payable processes. The role will be vital in supporting the financial health of our organisation. Responsibilities * Maintain accurate financial records by recording day-to-day financial transactions and completing the posting process. * Prepare monthly financial statements and reports to provide insights into the company\’s financial position. * Manage accounts payable, ensuring timely payments to vendors and suppliers. * Manage accounts receivable and credit control with payments relating to early years funding and directly from parents. * Reconcile bank statements and ensure all discrepancies are resolved promptly. * Assist with the preparation of budgets and forecasts as required. * Collaborate with local authorities during audits and provide necessary documentation. * Ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations regarding financial reporting. * Utilise accounting software QuickBooks to manage financial data efficiently. Experience * Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role is essential. * Proficiency in accounting software, particularly Quickbooks is highly essential. * Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles. * Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills are crucial for this position. * Ability to work independently as well as part of a team. * Strong communication skills to liaise effectively with colleagues and external stakeholders.
