Groundworks Estimator – Civil Engineering – Kent & South East Excellent opportunity with a fast-growing contractor | Immediate start | Competitive salary We,re recruiting on behalf of a well-established and rapidly expanding civil engineering contractor based in the Southeast. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company that offers clients a full in-house solution – from design and build to ongoing maintenance – across both private and public sector projects. They deliver a wide range of works, from public highways and large housing developments to bespoke private builds and smaller improvement schemes. The Role – Groundworks Estimator: Reporting directly to the company owner and working closely with the project team, you’ll be responsible for: * Producing accurate cost estimates for groundworks and associated civils packages (e.g., drainage, utilities, landscaping, earthworks, remediation) from 1st principles. * Developing tender submissions and cost plans aligned with project documentation. * Supporting budget creation and contributing to costed risk assessments. * Presenting estimates and summaries internally and to clients where required. What We’re Looking For: * Degree qualified in Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or similar, with relevant experience. * 5+ years in a Groundworks Estimator role, ideally in the residential civil engineering sector. * Strong understanding of estimating software and solid all-round IT skills. * Ability to take off quantities from drawings with confidence. * Commercially aware with a strong grasp of contracts and cost control.
