Project Overview: Fire Door Inventory Review (not inspection)
Role Summary: We are seeking detail-oriented and dependable contractors to support a nationwide Fire Door Inventory project. You will be responsible for visiting client retail stores across the UK to check existing fire doors against architectural plans and past survey reports—not to inspect or assess the condition, but to verify their presence and correct categorisation. This is a boots-on-the-ground data verification role. Ideal for individuals with experience in facilities, fire safety, surveying, or compliance-based site audits.
Key Responsibilities:
- Visit assigned Co-op retail stores (7 per day on average)
- Verify presence of fire doors as marked on plans
- Confirm whether fire doors have been captured in the existing reports
- Identify fire doors that:
- Passed inspection but were not included in the initial report
- Are incorrectly marked as fire doors but do not require compliance checks
Must-Have Requirements:
- Experience in surveying, fire safety, compliance, or facilities management
- Strong attention to detail – you’ll be validating gaps in previous data
- Ability to interpret basic architectural plans
- Competent with smartphones or tablets for data input and photos
- UK driving licence and access to own vehicle (expenses covered per mile or day rate to reflect travel)
- Willingness to travel extensively across the UK
Nice-to-Have:
- FDIS, NEBOSH Fire, or other fire door qualifications (not essential – this is not an inspection role)
Pay & Logistics:
- All inclusive Day rate (must include your travel expenses - hotel, petrol)
