Brand new opportunity which can be inside or outside IR35! Our Client has a requirement for a MEICA Lead, who will be required to work on a contract basis in London.

Job Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead, plan, and deliver all Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation (MEICA) and commissioning activities, ensuring alignment with project programme, budget, and Costain/Thames Water Framework standards.
  • Coordinate all Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation design, construction, and commissioning elements with designers, site teams, subcontractors, and Thames Water to ensure seamless project delivery.
  • Promote standardisation, consistency, and best practices across all Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation works, ensuring full compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental procedures.
  • Fully understand the scope of Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation systems, managing risks, outages, interfaces, and opportunities to optimise project outcomes.
  • Ensure subcontractor specifications meet Thames Water, British Standards, and WIMES requirements.
  • Oversee production of all commissioning handover documentation, including manuals and ACD folders.
  • Identify and resolve design, supply chain, and site interface issues related to Mechanical, Electrical, Instrumentation, Control and Automation to ensure smooth execution.
  • Attend key meetings and workshops, providing technical guidance and generating action points as required.
  • Support risk and opportunity management and participate in audits when necessary.
  • Fulfil duties as LV AP(E) or AP(M) as required.

Experience / Skills / Knowledge / Qualifications:

  • 10 years' experience in MEICA Design, Delivery & Commissioning on large complex mechanical/electrical and process plants in the Water Industry.
  • Previous experience working as an electrical or mechanical authorised person on complex systems.
  • Experience with a main contractor working on Water and Wastewater Process Engineering projects.
  • Must have experience of the MEICA Design, Delivery & Commissioning process, including, ECI, De-Risking, Design review, RAMS collation & review, Quality plans, ITPS, check sheets, programmes, manuals etc. throughout the project life cycle.
  • Relevant discipline engineering HNC or engineering apprenticeship with experience of MEICA delivery in a multi-discipline environment.
  • Construction Skills Certification Scheme or affiliation required for the project (CSCS/ECS Card).
  • Site management safety training scheme (SMSTS).
  • First aid at work.
  • Must hold a valid Blue Water Hygiene card & Thames Water Passport.
  • Preferred holder of Professional membership & registration with the IET/IMechE/SOE possible level of (EngTech/IEng/CEng).
