Masterclass are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join a very welcoming team in a specialist school in Horsham. We are seeking a one-day support worker and one night support worker. The school also benefits from an on-site residential unit within its grounds. They provide care, education, and therapeutic support to young people with Autism.
Your Role:
- Provide consistent care and emotional support to children and young people in a safe, homely environment
- Support daily routines, personal care, and life skills development
- Build trusting relationships that promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
- Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside education, therapy, and care professionals
- Actively participate in activities, outings, and structured routines to enrich each child's experience
- Maintain accurate records and always uphold safeguarding practices
What We're Looking For:
- Experience in a residential, education, or care environment
- A compassionate, reliable, and child-centred approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
- NVQ in Residential Childcare (desirable but not essential)
Must have:
- Ability to work well independently and as a team
- Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
- A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
- Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
- Holds GCSE’s in Maths & English grade A*-C 4-9 or equivalent
- Resilience to deal with challenging situations
