Location: Horsham, West Sussex

Contract: Full-Time (Shift Work - Days & Nights available)

Salary: £95.83 (based on 7 hours)

Start Date: ASAP or a September start

Masterclass are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to join a very welcoming team in a specialist school in Horsham. We are seeking a one-day support worker and one night support worker. The school also benefits from an on-site residential unit within its grounds. They provide care, education, and therapeutic support to young people with Autism.

Your Role:

  • Provide consistent care and emotional support to children and young people in a safe, homely environment
  • Support daily routines, personal care, and life skills development
  • Build trusting relationships that promote positive behaviour and emotional wellbeing
  • Work as part of a multidisciplinary team alongside education, therapy, and care professionals
  • Actively participate in activities, outings, and structured routines to enrich each child's experience
  • Maintain accurate records and always uphold safeguarding practices

What We're Looking For:

  • Experience in a residential, education, or care environment
  • A compassionate, reliable, and child-centred approach
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
  • NVQ in Residential Childcare (desirable but not essential)

Must have:

  • Ability to work well independently and as a team
  • Has a passion to support and empower children and young people
  • A DBS on the Updates Service, or be willing to obtain one
  • Commitment to safeguarding students and young people
  • Holds GCSE’s in Maths & English grade A*-C 4-9 or equivalent
  • Resilience to deal with challenging situations
