Our client is a large and well-established MEP Sub-Contractor operating across the UK, Ireland & Europe. They undertake major Mechanical & Electrical Packages on behalf of Tier:1 main contractors involved in technology schemes including Data Centres, Pharmaceutical, Semi-Conductor plants and heavy industrial projects.
Due to continued growth in the region of their pharmaceutical division, our client is now seeking an experienced Electrical QAQC Manager to join their team based on a Data Centre build in Hertfordshire.
Responsibilities
- Quality Assurance and Control Oversight: The Electrical QAQC Lead ensures that all electrical systems and installations meet the required quality standards, specifications, and industry regulations. This includes reviewing design documents, testing procedures, and inspecting materials to confirm compliance with the project's quality requirements.
- Developing QAQC Plans and Procedures: The lead is responsible for creating and implementing detailed QAQC plans for the electrical works in the data centre construction. These plans outline the testing, inspection, and approval processes for electrical systems, ensuring all phases of the project meet quality standards.
- Conducting Inspections and Audits: The QAQC Lead regularly inspects electrical installations, systems, and equipment during construction. They carry out audits to ensure that electrical contractors and subcontractors adhere to project specifications, regulatory codes, and safety standards. They also address any non-conformities that arise during inspections.
- Coordinating Testing and Commissioning: The lead coordinates and supervises the testing and commissioning of electrical systems such as power distribution, backup systems (generators, UPS), and fire alarm systems. They ensure that all electrical systems are thoroughly tested and verified before being handed over to the operations team.
- Reporting and Documentation: The Electrical QAQC Lead is responsible for documenting the results of inspections, audits, and tests. They prepare detailed reports, highlighting any discrepancies or quality issues, and recommend corrective actions. They ensure all necessary certifications and approvals are obtained before the electrical systems are considered ready for use.
