As we continue to grow, we are seeking a dedicated Trade and Customs Officer to join our team and provide exceptional service to our clients.
We are looking for an experienced and customer-focused Trade and Customs Officer to oversee the smooth administration of shipments in and out of our bonded warehouse. You will play a crucial role in processing import/export documentation, ensuring compliance with customs regulations, and liaising with both external and internal stakeholders to manage the end-to-end flow of international goods.
Your Tasks:
- Documentation Management: Accurately manage and check processes and documents related to the import, export, and transit of goods under customs supervision.
- Customs Declarations: Collect data, prepare, and process customs declarations in accordance with applicable customs regulations and internal procedures.
- Compliance & Legislation: Identify any deviations from customs legislation, discuss with relevant stakeholders, and ensure full compliance with current laws.
- Goods Traffic: Manage the flow of international goods, ensuring that all shipments are processed efficiently and on time.
- Audits & Inspections: Support physical checks and audits by customs authorities and internal teams to maintain compliance.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Communicate and collaborate with external parties such as carriers, customers, and customs authorities, as well as internal colleagues across all levels of the business.
Your Profile:
- Experience: Proven experience in a customs role, preferably in a bonded warehouse or logistics environment.
- Customer-Oriented: Strong client and customer-focused mindset, with a commitment to providing high-quality service.
- Problem-Solving: Proactive approach to identifying issues and resolving them efficiently.
- Communication: Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage with stakeholders at all levels.
- Prioritization: Strong ability to manage conflicting priorities and work to tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Administration: Excellent administrative skills with great attention to detail.
- Initiative: Ability to work independently and take initiative when necessary.
