As a Sewerage Operator you will be part of a team working to maintain our sewerage network to meet quality and customer service standards in accordance with wastewater procedures and work instructions.

You will be:

  • working with customers to resolve reactive incidents, which may include blockages, pollution and flooding (internal and external)
  • responsible for accurately collating and submitting feedback information from the site, such as incident forms
  • responsible for your own health and safety as well as that of your team and any contractors, customers and the general public
  • involved in routine maintenance as well as reactive work.

Because we provide a 24-hour service, you will be paid for stand-by arrangements, which will be on a rota basis, working one week in four, which will cover 365 days a year. The role involves travelling across the north of our region, which covers Bristol, South Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, B&NES and everywhere in between.

What you’ll need:

  • Customer focused and a team player, you will have a conscientious and committed approach and ensure you continually provide a high-quality service with a strong focus on customer satisfaction and exceeding performance targets.
  • Experience using single man jetting unit and CCTV equipment
  • A QCF in sewerage operations or City & Guilds equivalent is beneficial but not essential, or you will be willing to undertake certification
  • Confined space trained and Streetworks certification for working on the highway would be an advantage, but is not essential as training can be provided
  • Basic IT knowledge, including Microsoft Office – full training will be provided for any internal systems
  • To hold a valid driving licence. A company vehicle will be provided for your travel
  • To be able to work in pressurised environments, 45 hours per week.
