Base Location: Inverness

Salary: £28,072 - £32,605 + a range of other benefits to support your family, finances and wellbeing.

The role

As a Facilities Maintenance Operative, you will be required to provide support to the Site Facilities Manager to ensure safe, cost-effective maintenance planning and execution of maintenance to SSE assets and equipment. Schedule and execute Plan-on maintenance activities, management of internal work request system, and generate and issue facilities maintenance plans.

You will:

  • Ensure all issued maintenance works are carried out in a timely and prioritised manner.
  • Carry out general repairs to building fabric including, minor building work, woodwork, tiling and painting. As well as lifting and moving of furniture, equipment, and materials.
  • Complete planned preventative maintenance works as well as co-ordinate maintenance activities and produce agreed plans to put procedures in place.
  • Ensure all assets are maintained to minimum legal and statutory standards and meet insurance requirements, e.g. (lifting equipment, pressure systems and LEV).
  • Assist the team in maintaining an excellent SHE record through observing all SSE and FM work processes and procedures. Display proactive safety management throughout delivery of daily duties to ensure compliance with all legislative and industry best-practice requirements.
  • Develop and maintain excellent relationships with site stakeholders, operational FM teams and visitors. Recognise customer requirements and ensure time bound promises are delivered, contributing to FM being viewed as a value-added service.

You will have:

  • Experience in Facilities Management along with experience in the use of CAFM (Computer Aided Facilities Management) systems whilst working in conjunction with a Help Desk function.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle customer enquiries and resolve issues effectively.
  • Experience in dealing with multiple stakeholders, across a number of business functions to support the delivery of their departmental goals.
  • Team coordination skills and the ability to prioritise your own work schedule to enable delivery of planned work.
  • Previous experience working within a Trade based role.
