We're looking for a Sub Agent to join our Regional Civils team based at Bridgwater Tidal Barrier in Somerset.
Location: Bridgwater Tidal Barrier, Somerset
Contract: Permanent, Full Time
What will you be responsible for?
As a Sub Agent, you'll be working within the Regional Civils team, supporting our civil engineering team on the Bridgwater Tidal Barrier, a landmark infrastructure project in Somerset and one of England's biggest flood defence schemes. The role is site-based, reporting to the Site Agent, and will play a critical part in the successful delivery of works including steel piling, earthworks, reinforced concrete structures, utilities, and general infrastructure.
Your day to day will include:
- Assisting with the construction strategy, including kick-off meetings, pre-commencement documentation such as method statements, environmental and quality plans, construction programmes, procurement and design delivery schedules
- Liaising with Agent and Section Foreman to allocate labour, plant materials and temporary works to carry out required activities
- Managing the site engineering team, being responsible for the performance and development of Site and Section Engineers
- Responsibility for identifying and resolving problems arising from technical site issues in liaison with Agent
- Ensuring site teams have required documentation, information, resources required to carry out duties
- Oversee the production and management of Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs), Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS).
What are we looking for?
This role of Sub Agent is great for you if:
- You hold relevant HNC/degree
- You have experience and knowledge of practical application of site engineering activities combined with supervision skills in a similar role
- Experience with producing and managing ITPs, RAMS, quality and safety documentation.
- You have previous experience with piling, reinforced concrete, drainage, earthworks and temporary works.
- You hold an SSSTS and CSCS card - Supervisor Gold, experienced Supervisor or Manager.
