Our Client, a highly respected engineering and manufacturing business, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Scheduler to join their team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with a strong background in planning and scheduling within a machine shop and assembly environment to make a real impact in a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation.

The Role:

  • Working closely with the Operations Manager, you will play a key role in the development and control of planning processes across both machine shop and assembly operations.
  • You’ll help drive efficiencies and ensure seamless production scheduling using ERP systems and capacity planning tools.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Use ERP software to manage end-to-end planning processes for machining and assembly.
  • Conduct load and capacity planning to support production demands.
  • Schedule machining, subcontract operations, inspection, and assembly activities.
  • Monitor and report on progress through KPIs to ensure clear visibility across departments.
  • Maintain accurate forecasts for operation completion and final product shipping.
  • Present data in a clear, visual format to support decision-making at all levels.
  • Work cross-functionally to ensure accurate ERP data and shared planning priorities.
  • Liaise with overseas manufacturing facilities to ensure aligned planning.
  • Raise and close work orders efficiently to support daily/weekly planning.
  • Drive continuous improvement in planning processes and data accuracy.
  • Contribute to a culture of safety and compliance with HSE policies.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Previous experience in a production planning/scheduling role within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of planning systems, MRP, and shop floor capability.
  • Hands-on experience with ERP systems (IFS experience advantageous but not essential).
  • Highly proficient in Microsoft Excel and data analysis.
  • A proactive, detail-oriented individual with excellent communication skills.
  • Confident working under pressure and managing multiple priorities.
  • Technically minded with a strong focus on continuous improvement and efficiency.
