Job Description:

Our client is a $16bn global multi-strategy, multi-manager hedge fund with a track record spanning over 20 years. They are looking for an Investment Analyst to join the only Financials Team at the fund.

Responsibilities

As a Public Equity Investment Analyst focusing on financial stocks, you will play a key role in shaping investment strategies and enhancing performance in this sector. Your expertise in financial markets and equities will contribute to portfolio management and alpha generation for clients.

Responsibilities include:

• In-Depth Research: Conduct thorough fundamental analysis on publicly traded financial companies, evaluating financial statements, market trends, and competitive positioning.
• Asset Valuation: Develop valuation models to assess intrinsic value of financial stocks, using methods like DCF, comparable analysis, and NAV.
• Market Analysis: Keep abreast of macroeconomic trends, interest rates, and industry developments affecting financial stocks, providing insights to the team.
• Idea Generation: Identify compelling investment opportunities within the financial sector and produce data-driven investment theses.

Qualifications

• 2-6 years of experience in equity research, investment banking, or hedge funds
• Experience in financials is essential
• Excellent academic background, Bachelor’s degree or higher, preferably in finance, economics, or mathematics
• Proven ability to conduct research, due diligence, and produce client-ready investment materials
• Strong quantitative skills with high attention to detail
