We are currently working with a leading engineering consultancy that is seeking an experienced HSE Advisor to join their growing team based in Glasgow. This is an excellent opportunity to join a forward-thinking organisation that places a strong emphasis on health, safety, and environmental excellence. You’ll be instrumental in supporting compliance across a variety of UK project sites and ensuring that best practices and safety standards are consistently upheld.
The Role
Reporting to the HSE Lead, you will be responsible for implementing and maintaining HSE policies and procedures across UK operations. Your work will include a mix of audits, inspections, training delivery, and ongoing support for ISO management systems.
Key Responsibilities
- Support and maintain ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 Management Systems
- Conduct safety audits, inspections, and risk assessments across project sites
- Deliver health and safety training to office and site-based personnel
- Act as the first point of contact for internal and external EHS audits
- Assist in developing project-specific safety plans and emergency action procedures
- Ensure ongoing compliance with HSE legislation and internal standards
What We’re Looking For
- Proven HSE experience within the construction industry
- Strong working knowledge of ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 standards
- NEBOSH National Diploma or NVQ Level 6/7 in Occupational Health & Safety
- CMIOSH or working towards Chartered Membership
- Comfortable travelling to project sites across the UK
- ISO Lead Auditor certification – Desirable
- Familiarity with CDM regulations and environmental compliance – Desirable
- Experience working within engineering or design-led environments - Desirable
