Are you a Technical Assistant looking to develop your career in a major paper product manufacturer based at our site in Grantham? We are looking for a Technical Assistant who can ensure best technical standards are maintained in the factory and communication of technical and quality throughout the departments as well as ensuring we meet and exceed the customers' expectations. You will be working Monday to Friday - 38.75 hours per week. This role is a fixed term position.
About the Role
- As appropriate, write new & develop existing work instructions and product specifications for the immediate and wider site teams.
- Cover QA department where required, intaking of materials and detailed line checks.
- Responsible for the generation of Internal specifications in line with the customer specifications.
- Responsible for the NCR system, from control to escalation to suppliers, working closely with procurement to resolve issues/co-ordinate trials and concessions as required.
- Actively involved in close out of non-conformances from external audits carried out.
- Working alongside the team to ensure all equipment is captured and within calibration, including arrangement of onsite calibrations.
- Manage any customer complaints received, maintaining the internal database and analysing & trending as required.
- Ensure that all complaints are fully investigated, closed out and any root cause improvement actions implemented.
- Carry out internal/GMP audits as scheduled.
- Factory go live ensuring all documentation is ready for launch products.
- Completion of system audits as required by the business.
- Driver of close out of non-conformances from external audits carried out.
- Ensure the site is meeting compliance to customer codes of practices.
- Performing traceability and business continuity tests, actions closed out as required.
- Conduct training when required and ensure compliance.
- Maintain technical communications to all departments.
- Prepare and ensure compliance for all audits undertaken.
- Data entry on spreadsheets & completion of integrity data/ Environmental/ KC.
- Proactively work with the wider team to implement continual improvement and cost reduction initiatives across our business.

Requirements
- Experienced: Proficiency at Microsoft Office programmes such as Word and Excel. 2 years manufacturing experience preferably within a technical area.
- Desirable: Experience working in the food industry and manufacturing. HACCP level 1. Internal auditing experience. Knowledge of specifications and customer portals is preferred but not essential, as training will be given. Understanding of BRC and other customer COPSs. Training experience.
