The Opportunity
Reporting to the Senior Electrical Engineer or project/business Director you will collaborate with the Electrical and Mechanical engineers within the Project Team. You will be responsible for assisting Electrical Engineers on a selection of projects, including responsibility for completing electrical design with assistance and direction from senior engineers, reporting on workloads and agreeing priorities with design lead. Assisting the project engineers in advising on personnel resourcing/workload, agreeing design goals with project senior, attending weekly team meetings and assisting in seeking ways of improving the efficiency and productivity of your personal design activities.
As a Graduate Electrical Engineer you will:
- Show ability to operate on multiple projects with assistance from the Electrical Project engineers
- Complete detailed electrical design with support from other Engineers in their design duties
- Complete calculations to prove design for LV Distribution, Lighting, small power, fire and security alarms systems with support from project engineers
- Assist with coordinating the design with mechanical design members
- Feed into the project engineering team for their attendance in design team meetings
- Manage personal design work loads with assistance from project engineer
- Constantly seek ways of improving the efficiency of your work
- Continually seek to adopt the most UpToDate practices and to be innovative in their application
- Provide details to the Sustainability Engineers with modelling input data and criteria
Technical Requirements:
- You will have a Basic understanding of the current building regulations, CIBSE documentation, IEE Wiring Regulations, British standards, BSRIA documentation and all other general design guides associated with the building services industry. (It is expected that the content of these documents will not be fully understood however the knowledge of what documents cover what elements is expected)
- You need to be IT literate, with a working knowledge of office, AutoCAD, Revit and Hevacomp
- IES training will be provided as is working towards Member of CIBSE/IET accreditation later in your professional career
