Marble Talent Group is proud to be recruiting on behalf of a leading Mechanical and Electrical (M&E) services contractor for an experienced Commercial Manager to join their Surrey team. The ideal candidate will have a solid background in M&E contracting, with proven expertise in both pre-contract negotiations and the commercial management of high-value, fast-track projects. This is a senior-level position requiring confidence, commercial acumen, and the ability to manage multi-million-pound schemes from inception to completion, ensuring contract compliance and optimal commercial performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Leading commercial input during the design stage and supporting tender bid submissions, including the Absolute Maximum Price (AMP) for construction.
- Liaising with subcontractors and suppliers in the pre-construction phase to ensure alignment with commercial objectives.
- Collaborating with design, estimating, and pre-construction teams to maintain robust commercial control.
- Reviewing and negotiating contract terms with clients, supported by senior leadership.
- Procuring and managing specialist subcontractors through comprehensive subcontract agreements.
- Preparing and submitting interim valuations in accordance with contract terms.
- Managing contract variations with both clients and subcontractors.
- Issuing timely and accurate payment notices to subcontractors.
- Managing upstream and downstream final account settlements.
- Delivering monthly financial reports in line with company requirements.
- Monitoring project programmes to ensure compliance with contract conditions, including issuance of required notices.
