TimePlan Education is working in partnership with a high-achieving secondary school in the London Borough of Wandsworth to recruit a dedicated and skilled Design & Technology (DT) Technician with a strong focus on textiles for a September 2025 start. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a successful and creative DT department within a school known for its academic excellence, vibrant arts provision, and supportive staff culture.
About the Role:
- Support textiles classes, ensuring that materials, equipment, and resources are well-prepared and maintained.
- Prepare and organise fabrics, threads, patterns, and other textiles resources for lessons.
- Maintain sewing machines, overlockers, and other specialist equipment in safe working order.
- Assist teaching staff and students during practical textiles lessons.
- Support students with practical work, including the use of sewing machines and design tools.
- Monitor stock levels and place orders for materials when required.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant health and safety regulations.

- Experience working in a school DT department, preferably with a textiles focus.
- Confident in the use and maintenance of sewing machines and other textiles equipment.
