About the Role: We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Technical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, specifying, and supporting heat tracing solutions for industrial and commercial applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards and client requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Design and develop electric heat tracing systems for piping, vessels, and equipment in various industries (e.g., oil & gas, chemical, food processing).
- Prepare technical drawings, schematics, and layout plans using AutoCAD or similar CAD software.
- Perform heat loss calculations and select appropriate heating cables, control systems, and insulation.
- Collaborate with sales, project management, and installation teams to ensure design feasibility and accuracy.
- Provide technical support to clients and internal teams during project execution and commissioning.
- Ensure compliance with IEC, IEEE, ATEX, and other relevant standards.
- Maintain and update design documentation, specifications, and BOMs.
- Participate in R&D and product improvement initiatives related to heat tracing technologies.
About you:
Required Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Instrumentation Engineering (or equivalent experience).
- Proven experience in heat tracing system design would be beneficial.
- Proficiency in engineering software such as AutoCAD, ETAP, or similar software.
- Familiarity with hazardous area classifications and temperature maintenance requirements.
- Excellent communication and documentation skills.
Preferred Attributes:
- Experience with international projects and multi-disciplinary teams.
- Knowledge of IECEx/ATEX design or installation practices.
- Strong understanding of thermal insulation, control systems, and electrical load calculations.
