As a Teacher of Religious Studies, your responsibilities will be:
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality Religious Studies lessons aligned with the national curriculum.
- Teach across Key Stages, adapting lessons to meet the needs of different learners.
- Encourage respectful debate and exploration of different religions, philosophies, and ethical issues.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing feedback and support to maximise achievement.
- Contribute to curriculum development and department planning.
- Maintain excellent behaviour management and classroom engagement.
- Support the spiritual, moral, social, and cultural development of students.
- Participate in school-wide activities, staff meetings, and CPD opportunities.
Skills & Requirements for Teacher of Religious Studies:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in Religious Studies, Theology, Philosophy or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Religious Studies is desirable.
- Strong communication, organisational, and classroom management skills.
- A reflective and inclusive teaching approach.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps).
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered to the update service or willingness to apply for one.
