Berry Recruitment are seeking Kitchen Assistants/Pot Washers to work day-shifts for our client based in Luton. This is a full-time role (with an opportunity to potentially go permanent), working 40 hours per week on a 5 days out of 7 rota, with shifts falling between Monday and Sunday. Must be hard working, fit and strong and used to working in a kitchen.
Job Details:
- Day Rate: £12.75 per hour
- Shift: 8.45am to 5.00pm & 11.00am to 7.30pm
- Days Off: 2 days off on a rota
Responsibilities:
- Serving meals to customers
- Taking card payments
- Dishwashing: Washing dishes, cutlery, pots, pans, and utensils, including the use of dishwashers.
- Cleaning: Cleaning and sanitizing kitchen surfaces, floors, equipment (like ovens, grills, and sinks), and walls.
- Basic Food Prep: Assisting with basic food preparation, such as peeling vegetables, washing salad greens, and sometimes chopping ingredients.
- Delivery Handling: Receiving and unloading deliveries, organizing and storing supplies, and ensuring proper inventory management.
- Waste Management: Taking out rubbish, recycling, and ensuring the proper disposal of food waste.
- Kitchen Organization: Keeping storage areas tidy and organized, including refrigerators, freezers, and shelves.
- Equipment Maintenance: Maintaining kitchen equipment in good working order and reporting any issues to the appropriate staff.
- Hygiene Standards: Ensuring adherence to health and safety regulations and maintaining high standards of cleanliness.
Requirements:
- Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate desirable
- Customer service experience, including serving food
- Experience as a Kitchen Assistant, Kitchen Porter, Pot Washer
