This is a great opportunity for an experienced Senior CAD Technician to join an extremely well established company within the Building Services industry. The successful candidate will be working as part of the project BIM team, responsible for delivering complex multi service, co-ordinated and engineered solutions across all aspects of the project including plant spaces and distribution.
Responsibilities:
- Modelling fully coordinated and engineered solutions.
- Full clash detection and checking of your work and the work of others.
- Production of Single Service Drawings from the 3D modelled environment.
- Incorporating comments into both 2D and 3D environments.
- Mentoring and training of less experienced team members.
- Attending site meetings with clients.
- Raising technical queries.
- Completing and progressing pre-drawing checklists with the client.
- Identifying and pricing variation works not contained within our scope of work.
- Carrying out site surveys.
Skills/attributes:
- Comprehensive knowledge of all Mechanical, Electrical and Public Health services.
- Capable of working on complex areas of multi service co-ordination, using your own initiative to resolve technical and co-ordination issues.
- Fully conversant in all aspects of Revit, CAD and Navis.
- A sound understanding of BIM and able to deliver both the LOD and LOI requirements.
- Comprehensive understanding of structural and architectural drawings and the build process.
- Comprehensive understanding of service engineering principles and best practice.
- Capable of coordinating complex and technical areas.
- Understanding manufacturing and prefabrication detailing.
- Extensive building services experience working for a contractor or in the consultancy sector.
- Capable of communicating with the Client / Design team over technical issues.
- Able to impart knowledge and give guidance to junior team members.
