About the Role:
As a General Food Technology (FT) Teacher, you will be responsible for delivering engaging, practical, and theory-based lessons that promote a love for food, nutrition, and healthy living. You will plan and teach across Key Stages, monitor student progress, and contribute to a vibrant technology department. Your role will involve preparing and delivering lessons in line with the national curriculum, supporting students in developing essential life skills, and maintaining a safe, well-equipped classroom environment. You will also be expected to play an active role in departmental planning, assessment, and extracurricular enrichment related to food and nutrition.
Food Technology (FT) Teacher Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent recognised teaching qualification.
- A degree in Food Technology, Hospitality, or a related subject.
- Experience teaching Food Technology in schools is desirable.
- Strong organisational and classroom management skills.
- A creative, practical, and inclusive approach to teaching.
- Have an updated CV (covering last ten years barring any unexplained gaps).
- An enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
