Planner

Our Planning teams manage all areas of the planning system on behalf of the Company. In an ever-changing planning environment, our teams have experience in influencing the formation of planning policy, strategic land promotion, handling the development management process, and implementing community engagement strategies.

As part of this role, you may work on identifying future land acquisition opportunities, devising planning strategies, managing consultant teams, drafting statements for planning applications, and delivering planning projects of various scales. You will collaborate closely with internal land, technical, commercial, and sales teams, as well as liaising with planning authorities, local stakeholders, and residents.

Reporting to the Planning Manager, Design Manager, or Technical Director, you will produce and collate information for planning applications, submit them, and monitor progress. You will also liaise with planning authorities and statutory consultees to progress applications and discharge conditions.

You will be expected to:

1. Manage all aspects of the promotion of current planning applications
2. Prepare planning documentation, collate technical information, and submit applications
3. Engage with planning authorities and statutory consultees to ensure successful application outcomes
4. Manage external consultants involved in planning processes
5. Coordinate with internal teams to identify and progress planning opportunities on existing sites
6. Promote and adhere to company values, policies, and procedures
7. Undertake community engagement activities

To succeed in this role, candidates should have:

• A graduate level qualification in planning (ideally RTPI membership) or be a Chartered Surveyor
• Experience with local authorities, house builders, or private consultancies
• Knowledge of planning policy and development management
• Strong communication, project management, influencing, and negotiation skills
• A valid driving license and good knowledge of the local area
• Ability to work independently, manage, and prioritize workload effectively
