Fulltime Permanent Marine Operative Position
Location: Tilbury Port - London
Based from and resident in the Lock-side office with accommodation provided. This is a UK shore-based job with a 2-week on/off rotation. You do not need to reside in the UK permanently, but a valid Right to Work in the UK is required.
The department is responsible for the safe, continuous, daily movement and berthing of vessels within the port, berth preparation, and marine structure maintenance, following the policies and procedures outlined by the Port Marine Safety Code.
In conjunction with the port's Technical Services, the department manages the collection, recycling, and disposal of ship and port-generated waste products, along with other port services.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience
- Must be physically fit.
- A valid ENG1 or ML5 medical certificate is required at all times.
- Preferred but not limited to:
- Able Seaman or equivalent
- Efficient Deck Hand CoC or similar qualification
- MOD (Navy) qualifications
- Other formal marine qualifications
- Experience working in a marine environment
Previous experience on vessels or in marine environments is preferred.
