Patheon, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific in Tilburg, is responsible for the development and production of commercial medicines in the form of softgel capsules.

Position in the Organisation: You report to the Production Supervisor.

How does your new job look like? You will work in shifts. Production takes place within the following departments: Gel/Medicine/Tank Cleaning, Weighing/Encapsulation, and Post-Treatment. Within the Gel and Medicine departments, respectively, the gelatine (the shell) and the medicine (filling of the capsule) are produced.

As an Operator level II, you will work together with approximately 25-30 other operators in one of the Gel/Medicine, Encapsulation or Post-Treatment departments. You are responsible for the correct execution of the daily departmental plan in accordance with safety regulations, GMP, SOPs/WIs, BMRs and other quality standards. Extra IPC checks are performed at all critical stages of the production process. The work must be carried out strictly according to the regulations. We work in a 5-shift system. As an Operator, you are co-responsible for your own personal development and contribute to the continuous improvement of equipment and processes within your own department.

Job Requirements

  • We are looking for an involved and responsible Operator who is passionate about production.
  • Attention to detail and an accurate approach are important; you can work independently, but you also commit to delivering quality together with your colleagues.
  • MBO work and thinking level, in possession of a VAPRO-A certificate: pharmaceutical craftsman or comparable level.
  • Participation in the Introduction Programme Patheon Softgels B.V. (part of Thermo Fisher Scientific).
  • Basic knowledge of GMP and EH&S, skills and competencies.
  • Good command of the Dutch language in both spoken and written form.
  • Knowledge and experience in the pharmaceutical or food industry.
  • Willingness to work in shifts.

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This position comes with several physical requirements. We are looking for someone who feels comfortable in a dynamic work environment where physical effort and various working positions are part of the daily tasks.

  • Physical effort during lifting and cleaning work.
  • Noise and heat disturbances.
  • Risk of injury from contact with cleaning agents and moving equipment.
  • Working in different positions: bending, climbing stairs, pushing, repetitive actions.
  • Discomfort from wearing protective work clothing such as shoes, gloves, face masks, and beard/hair nets.
