The Role:
As our Demand Forecasting Manager, you will be responsible for managing the Demand Forecasting team, which comprises two Forecasting analysts. You’ll be tasked with developing a diverse, multi-disciplined, high performing, customer focussed team, leading by example and role modelling the values and behaviours of the company.
You will be accountable for managing the volumetric risk associated with the customer demand for gas, power and renewable certificates. A key focus of this role will be working with the Trading and Pricing teams to help support the teams managing wholesale and retail price risk.
What You’ll Be Getting Up To:
- You will be accountable for reviewing and approving the short-term and long-term daily demand forecasts, produced by the team.
- Managing and continually improving demand forecasting models, people and systems for power, gas, environmental product purchases.
- Responsible for monitoring the forecasting performance and delivering industry leading settlement accuracy, with a focus on setting and achieving appropriate MAPE and imbalance targets.
- Leading the continued development of key customer behaviour modelling, e.g. Demand destruction, within contract churn and portfolio movement between fixed and variable products.
- Overseeing and managing the contracts with external weather data providers, while ensuring the contract delivers on value for money and maximum effectiveness across the teams in the Trading department.
- Supporting the Regulations team on RFI (Requests for information).
- Supporting the Financial teams with business planning.
- Supporting the Trading department to develop both Trading and Pricing strategies.
- Responsible for developing the future strategy of Demand Forecasting in light of Market Wide HH Settlement.
- Presenting key inputs affecting the Hedging and Trading strategy and making recommendations to stakeholders across the SLT.

- You have excellent modelling skills (e.g. SQL, VBA & Python).

- You have a good understanding of energy wholesale markets and commodity risk.
- You have a good understanding of industry process & parties.
