As a store leader, you will be empowered to treat the store as if it is your own business. To succeed in this role, you should have previous experience leading a team in a dynamic retail or hospitality environment. You’ll champion our mission and values to create a memorable Starbucks experience for our customers and partners. You should understand your market, know your competition, and identify opportunities to drive store profitability and business growth. You will also be an ambassador for our partner networks, ensuring they feel valued and included.

Every day is different! As a store leader, working in one of our vibrant stores, you’ll set the example and lead from the front on shift. A typical day could include:

  • Executing store operations with your team, covering shifts including weekends and your days off, ensuring smooth opening and closing procedures
  • Analyzing data and making observations in-store to improve customer experience and overall store performance
  • Using forecasting and scheduling tools to manage labor within budgets and recruiting diverse, talented partners to meet store needs
  • Cascading and implementing new initiatives to achieve operational excellence and drive results
  • Supporting partner growth through coaching, development, and building positive relationships to understand their challenges and aspirations
  • Setting challenging yet realistic goals to boost engagement and partner performance

Our stores operate during early mornings, evenings, weekends, nights, and holidays, reflecting the dynamic retail environment. All new partners start with an introductory training program led by our in-store trainers and coaches, immersing them in Starbucks culture and preparing them for success. These programs are delivered on-site, providing hands-on learning supported by your manager.
