Investment Associate – Structured Credit (London Area)

THE SEARCH: Altus Partners is delighted to be partnering with a leading private capital asset manager to appoint an Associate within its Structured Credit team. With over £2 billion in assets under management, this firm is recognised for its innovative investment strategies. The credit business, which manages over, is renowned for its entrepreneurial and agile approach to structured credit and asset-backed securities (ABS). This is a unique opportunity to join a high-performing, fast-paced team and contribute to the full investment lifecycle—from origination through execution and portfolio management. THE ROLE: The role includes but is by no means limited to the following: Investment Execution & Structuring Support the origination and execution of structured credit investments, primarily in ABS. Conduct credit and risk analysis across a range of asset classes, including SME financing, student loans, auto loans (including green ABS), and credit cards. Assist with deal structuring, modelling, and documentation, ensuring robust investment execution. Portfolio Management & Monitoring Manage ongoing performance analysis and monitoring of credit portfolios. Engage with external counterparties, including arrangers, originators, and advisers. Prepare investment committee materials and contribute to internal decision-making processes. Market & Regulatory Awareness Maintain a strong understanding of the evolving regulatory landscape and structured credit market trends. THE REQUIREMENTS: The ideal candidate will demonstrate the following: Experience: 3–5+ years in structured credit at a bank, credit fund, or related institution. Technical Expertise: Strong knowledge of securitisation structures, especially SME, unsecured consumer, auto, and green ABS. Private Credit Focus: Must have experience in private credit transactions—public-only experience will not be considered. Exceptionally high standards and strong commercial judgment. Entrepreneurial, self-motivated, and able to operate in a lean, high-performance team. Excellent attention to detail and a genuine curiosity for complex credit structures. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Resilient and pragmatic, with a collaborative and hands-on mindset.
