Interim Technical Financial Controller (London Area)

Title: Interim Technical Financial Controller Location: Midlands – On-site/Hybrid Salary: £700/day (Outside IR35) Ref: AF0036 Contract: 6 Months Private Equity-Backed | Manufacturing A leading private equity-backed manufacturing business is seeking an experienced Interim Technical Financial Controller to join during a critical phase of growth and transformation. This £200m+ turnover business is scaling rapidly, and this role will play a key part in ensuring robust financial reporting, technical compliance, and readiness for future transactions. Key Responsibilities: Lead the production of statutory accounts under UK GAAP and IFRS. Own group consolidation across multiple entities, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Manage technical accounting matters including IFRS 15/16, fixed asset reviews, and audit preparation. Partner with the CFO and FP&A to ensure financial governance supports growth and value creation. Support finance transformation initiatives including system/process improvements and automation. Liaise with external auditors and advisors, acting as the technical accounting lead. Candidate Profile: Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA) with a strong technical background. Previous experience in a PE-backed or fast-paced, multi-entity environment. Hands-on approach with excellent consolidation, reporting, and audit experience. Strong knowledge of IFRS and UK GAAP. Able to hit the ground running and operate independently with minimal oversight.
