Full time, 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday. We are looking for an experienced multiskilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Duxford, Cambridge. Our top tier COMAH site includes a manufacturing and packaging plant, warehousing and support services. Your role will be to keep our production and packaging plant running smoothly, reducing downtime and improving efficiency.
Responsibilities:
- Perform reactive and proactive maintenance to ensure minimum downtime at our 24/5 production site.
- Provide mechanical and electrical maintenance, fault finding, repairs and installations for production equipment and services.
- Test and maintain site safety systems ensuring compliance with pressure and safety regulations.
- Prioritise safety in all tasks and adhere to all regulations and safety procedures.
- Ensure continuous supply of utility services to the site.
- Help maintain and improve the planned maintenance system.
- Communicate with the maintenance team leader and colleagues at all levels to provide updates on maintenance tasks.
- Maintain equipment for regulatory insurance inspections and ensure all inspections are completed to schedule.
- Fabricate various parts and components using various materials and equipment.
- Work closely with the whole Engineering Department to maximise efficiency.
- Actively participate in EHS audits and training as needed.
- Disposing of waste materials safely and according to current standards.
Skills & Experience Required:
- The Job Holder will have served a four year recognised apprenticeship, with a minimum of City & Guilds part 2 / NVQ level three qualifications.
- Proven experience in a manufacturing maintenance environment ideally in the chemical sector, pharmaceutical, biochemical or equivalent.
- Knowledge of Maintenance Management systems (e.g. SAP).
- Familiarity with specialised safety aspects such as DSEAR / ATEX and Pressure Systems.
- Understanding of regulatory and statutory Engineering requirements.
- A proactive βcan doβ attitude and focus on continuous improvement.
- The ability to work safely under pressure.
- Great team working skills, problem-solving and the ability to manage a varied workload.
