Our client, based in Wolverhampton, is recruiting for a Senior IT Technician to join their IT Department. The role involves managing the daily operations of the IT support service and assisting in developing the company\’s IT strategy.

The Senior IT Technician will ensure all IT systems and services operate reliably, meet service levels, and support the company\’s growth, including the implementation of SAP Business One.

Responsibilities include:

1. Overseeing the operational stability of all IT systems and infrastructure.
2. Training and supporting the IT Services Technician to deliver effective services.
3. Monitoring helpdesk requests and communicating with users regarding their issues.
4. Maintaining documentation and execution of the IT infrastructure maintenance plan.
5. Managing IT systems such as Active Directory, HyperV, VmWare, and Microsoft Cloud, ensuring security and availability.
6. Providing progress reports to the IT Manager and maintaining inventory records.
7. Supporting SAP B1 systems and managing backups and data integrity.
8. Planning and testing software deployments, maintaining change records, and supporting IT training activities.

Experience and Skills required:

• At least A Level education or equivalent, with relevant IT experience or training.
• Knowledge of networking, Active Directory, Microsoft and Google platforms, and systems maintenance.
• Ability to troubleshoot hardware and software issues independently.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
• Ability to adapt to new technologies and manage multiple tasks effectively.
• Discretion in handling sensitive information.
