Salary: £12.21 per hour

Hours: Full-time, 27 hours Wednesday to Friday (including weekends and bank holidays on a rota basis)

Location: Worcestershire/Herefordshire

As a Recycling Assistant at Severn Waste Services, you will play a vital role in helping the public recycle effectively and safely at our Household Recycling Centres. You’ll provide friendly, informative support to site users, ensuring recycling targets are achieved and that sites remain clean, safe, and compliant.

Works 10 hours per day in the summer, Wednesday to Friday.

What will you be doing?

• Engaging with the public to provide advice on recycling and correct waste disposal
• Monitoring and guiding site usage to ensure health & safety and compliance
• Maintaining site cleanliness and tidiness to prevent hazards
• Wearing and operating PPE and body cameras in line with policy
• Assisting users in unloading and depositing waste when required
• Checking waste loads to ensure only authorised materials are deposited
• Locking/unlocking the site and ensuring its security
• Implementing site-specific procedures including the Commercial Vehicle & Trailer Permit
• Supporting in snow and ice clearance during winter
• Operating site vehicles and equipment (where appropriately trained)
