Want to come and work for the top university in the UK with a world class estate? The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) is seeking to appoint a Director of Capital Development lead its award-winning Estates Capital Development Team.

The LSE Estates Division is responsible for developing and implementing the LSE Estates Strategy supporting the School's strategic objectives. The Estates Capital Development team has enjoyed unprecedented success in recent years, with acclaimed major projects gaining Stirling award nominations and the Team winning various ‘client of the year’ accolades. Situated in the heart of London, the estate is an iconic blend of historic and contemporary architecture, and will be further enhanced with future plans to deliver new world-class projects.
The Director of Capital Development will work closely with the Director of Estates on the realisation of the LSE Strategy and Capital Development programme. You will lead a team responsible for project delivery from brief development and design management through to procurement and construction on a diverse portfolio of complex new-build, refurbishment, fit-out, long term maintenance and decarbonisation projects, including major projects up to £200m in value.
We are seeking an individual with a proven track record of leading a portfolio of capital projects in a relatable setting, and who has a commitment to the delivery of projects that meet the highest standards of design quality and sustainability. You will have a high degree of commercial acumen, with experience of effective supplier management and contract procurement in the delivery of capital projects and programmes.
The role calls for an individual with exceptional interpersonal and communication and who is adept at successfully developing and managing relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders. We are seeking an inspirational person who is motivated by the opportunity to lead and develop team members.
