We are looking for an experienced Support Worker to join our St Louis Community Care Packages Team. Our team is passionate about helping clients live their best lives, maintaining independence and social connections, and maximizing choice through person-centred active supports within an NDIS environment. Working under the guidance of House Leaders and the Homes Manager, you will develop genuine connections with clients and actively engage in daily activities including personal care, domestic duties, meals, social activities, and community participation.
The Role
Support workers provide direct and indirect client support, ensuring high-quality care and promoting clients' choices and wellbeing holistically. This work occurs in clients' homes and community settings, aligned with St Louis values, policies, and Code of Conduct. St Louis Community Packages staff work 38 hours per week on a roster covering 7 days, with availability for morning, afternoon, and night shifts across a 24-hour roster.
To succeed in this role, you must meet the following requirements:
- Qualifications and Clearances: Certificate III in Individual Support/Disability or equivalent, Participation in ongoing training programs, Overseas Criminal Convictions Statutory Declaration (provided during onboarding), NDIS worker check, Ongoing flu vaccination, Knowledge of Aged Care Quality Standards, Subject to random drug testing.
- Skills and Knowledge: Ability to undertake shifts as scheduled, Strong commitment to caring for NDIS clients, Bicultural and/or bilingual skills are advantageous, Understanding of the needs of people with disabilities, Professional approach aligning with St Louis standards, Knowledge of Equal Employment Opportunity and Work Health and Safety principles, Knowledge of NDIS Standards and infection control is desirable, Sensitivity to cultural backgrounds and non-English speakers, Empathy, compassion, and effective communication skills, Ability to organize tasks and manage time effectively.
- Experience: Experience in disability or health-related roles is preferred.
Remuneration: From $33.41 to $36.46 per hour, weekend rates from $50.12 per hour.
