We are looking to recruit an enthusiastic and dedicated dental therapist to join our Public Dental Service (PDS) to provide patient-centred clinical dental duties in NHS Dumfries & Galloway. This unique opportunity will see the post holder providing the full range of therapist and hygienist services, as outlined in the General Dental Council (GDC) scope of practice, to patients including those with additional needs, medically complex, anxious / phobic, priority groups such as prisoners and homeless, safety net service and as referred by dentists working within the PDS.

Working to and keeping up to date with developments, scope of practice of DCPs and Health & Safety will be an important aspect of this post. The ability to communicate effectively while having the ability to deal with difficult situations or patients in a positive manner will be essential. Relevant clinical experience and GDC registration as a dental therapist is essential.

This post is based at multiple sites including Dumfries, Sanquhar, Castle Douglas, and Stranraer. It offers full-time (37.0 hours), with scope for review and consideration of other work patterns.
