An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Assistant to join the older adult in-patient service at Henneage Ward, Colchester. The role involves assisting the professional team in providing care for patients in an in-patient environment. Under supervision of a qualified team member, you will also implement and assist with the evaluation of individual care plans. It is a requirement of this position to participate in a flexible rostering arrangement to provide 24-hour care.
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the role of Co-Worker under supervision of a qualified nurse/clinician.
- Deliver planned care to service users as identified by the nominated professional.
- Assist qualified staff in monitoring patients' health parameters, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, respiration, weight, and drug/alcohol screening (post training).
- Assist in planning and delivering therapeutic and social activities for patients.
- Participate in initial assessments, planning, implementation, and evaluation of interventions, considering patients' physical, psychological, and social needs.
- Provide individualized care under supervision, ensuring proper documentation and storage of care records.
- Observe and report changes in patients' physical or mental health.
- Support the management of patients exhibiting challenging behaviour.
