We are seeking an experienced Transport Planning Assistant to join our team at Canvey Island. The role involves maintaining administrative processes and systems related to the transport department while supporting the transport planning function.

The Opportunity

To provide maintenance of all administrative processes and systems associated with the transport department and to support the transport planning function.

Administration and Maintenance

  • Answer telephone calls from all parties, dealing with all calls professionally and in line with company/department policies.
  • Handle incoming queries regarding deliveries and collections.
  • Manage various queues on Vision and ensure they are up to date.
  • Assist with specialist recovery and urgent collections.
  • Work with subcontractors โ€“ allocate work when advised by team leader, obtain images, paperwork, and update all systems to ensure accuracy.
  • Address driver queries, communicate effectively, and add extra collections to driversโ€™ workloads.
  • Assist in other areas of transport/planning processes as required.
  • Perform general office duties such as dealing with enquiries, typing, scanning, database updates, filing, etc.
  • Complete all tasks deemed reasonable by Transport management in a timely, efficient, and safe manner.
  • Assist in handling queries and issues from customers, suppliers, and the public.
  • Maintain Transport Inbox.
  • Perform any other duties as required, consistent with the grade of the post.

  • Transport office experience is advantageous but not essential.
  • Good communication skills.
  • IT literacy.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to use own initiative and work as part of a team.
