About the team:
Exciting opportunity to join a newly established team that is an amalgamation between parts of our Global Banking & Advisory and Global Markets divisions – Distribution & Credit Solutions (DCS) combining our capabilities in the credit space. DCS is integrated in Credit Chains working closely with Origination and Credit Portfolio Management to derisk the Bank during Primary (Syndication) and Secondary Distribution (Trading) while pursuing Fund Financing and Securitisation activities for clients leveraging a united Credit Sales and Trading team.
Non-Flow Syndicate is responsible for the underwriting book of Structured Credit products (non-liquid ABS, CLO, CMBS, Structured Commodity Finance receivables, SRT, Fund Financing products, DPR’s NPL) and Real Assets products in close co-ordination with several teams across the Bank. While DCS will cover all industry sectors this role will sit in our Commercial Real Estate syndication Pod and be based in London. This position will provide a wide range of access to all credit functions across the Bank providing the opportunity to develop and diversify your knowledge across various products while making a real impact in our ability to service clients more effectively and open new opportunities for Soc Gen.
Details of the Role:
We are looking for someone with an understanding and background in the Real Estate sector and Syndicated Loan Markets at the Senior Analyst / Associate level. Specific responsibilities will include:
- Analysis of transactions / opportunities to provide assistance to more senior team members for loan origination and distribution solutions
- Draft underwriting and syndication memos to support credit processes and maintain dialogue with Origination, Sector and Risk teams on progress of approvals
- Assisting senior team members to define syndication strategies, coordinate the execution with Sales teams, keeping borrowers up to date with status reports and managing the allocation of the transfer process
- Assist with the negotiation of legal documentation (mandate letter, term sheet, financing contracts etc.) pro-actively reviewing relevant documents and ensuring all compliance matters are effectively managed
- Coordination of transfer process for deals in syndication (document preparation, payment logistics etc.)
- Contribute to the development of our Loan Investor base through effective dialogue with public and private sales teams, providing clear information on potential deal opportunities for them to facilitate their discussions with investors
- Develop a network with investors (Bank and Non-Bank) to distribute relevant “call notes” and share feedback with the team to develop internal discussions across the Real Estate sector
- Preparation of high quality marketing material and actively pushing underwriting / distribution to provide product to investors
- Management of reporting platforms
Profile required
Currently operating within a Syndications team with experience covering the Real Estate Sector. Strong background in Credit Analysis and Legal Documentation. Demonstrable record in facilitating loan market transactions. Highly organised being able to prioritise multiple tasks concurrently. Collaborative and team-orientated mindset with willingness to take ownership and accountability. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. European language skills are beneficial but not essential.
