We are seeking an exceptional and experienced 3D Production Lead to drive the technical and visual quality of our linear production projects. This pivotal role focuses on delivering visually stunning, high-quality films while optimizing workflows and maintaining robust technical standards. The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of linear production pipelines, particularly with 3DsMax, Unreal, and Houdini, and demonstrate an ability to integrate CAD data seamlessly into visual productions. Extensive experience working on films within the built environment is essential.

You will be a natural leader who inspires and guides junior artists, fosters collaboration with external teams, and proactively addresses production challenges. Your expertise in linear production environments and organizational structures will be crucial in achieving exceptional results and establishing consistent high-quality standards across all projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and artistic guidance, feedback, and mentorship to the internal 3D team.
  • Collaborate extensively with external production teams, ensuring all required assets and support are delivered.
  • Partner with Production Supervisors to refine production workflows and processes.
  • Proactively identify and escalate potential production challenges to mitigate risks.
  • Foster a collaborative, supportive, and solutions-oriented team environment.
  • Apply a deep understanding of real-world camera systems—including lens behavior, depth of field, exposure, and motion blur—to replicate cinematic realism in 3D visualizations.
  • Guide the development of the 3D art pipeline in collaboration with the Head of Linear Production and Pipeline Technical Director, ensuring efficiency and consistency.
  • Establish and enforce adherence to technical specifications and artistic quality standards.
  • Collaborate with project teams to define artistic direction and technical specifications.
  • Manage asset creation schedules and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality assets.
  • Develop high-caliber 3D assets, environments, props, and visual effects as required.
  • Conduct quality assurance reviews and provide constructive feedback to the team.
  • Optimize asset performance and efficiency without compromising quality.
  • Stay informed of the latest 3D art tools, techniques, and industry trends.
  • Resolve technical issues with viable solutions and maintain comprehensive technical documentation.
  • Communicate effectively across teams, visually and verbally.
About You
  • Conceptual thinker with the ability to translate ideas into production.
  • Adaptable and interested in a variety of production styles and techniques.
  • Deep understanding of color pipelines, workflows, and compositing (particularly with Nuke).
  • Strong technical knowledge and hands-on experience in 3DsMax, Unreal, and Houdini within linear production.
  • Experienced in integrating CAD data into visual production workflows.
  • Familiar with real-life camera operations including framing, focal length, aperture, and photographic principles.
  • Proven experience in team leadership, mentorship, and collaboration.
  • Skilled at developing and advancing linear production standards and workflows.
  • Effective communicator, both visually and verbally, across multiple disciplines.
Skills & Experience
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within a creative studio environment in the 3D field.
  • Extensive experience in linear production across multiple platforms, with a strong grasp of organizational structures in production pipelines.
  • Significant experience in the short-form VFX industry and/or architectural visualization preferred.
  • Proficient in Nuke, 3DsMax, Unreal; experience with Houdini, Premiere, and DaVinci Resolve is advantageous.
  • In-depth understanding and practical experience with CAD workflows.
  • Knowledge of compositing, real-world camera systems, and photographic principles.
