Pupil Support Worker

Salary: £25,322 – £27,727 (pro-rata for part-time and sessional)
Hours: 27.5 per week, 39 week sessional
An exciting opportunity has arisen at Kaimes School for an enthusiastic Pupil Support Worker to join our team. The successful candidate will be nurturing and capable of building positive relationships with pupils, parents, and staff.
Kaimes School is a non-denominational special school in South Edinburgh, providing education for primary and secondary learners with complex long-term support needs, primarily related to Autistic Spectrum Disorder. The school has 16 classes from P6 to S6, with a maximum pupil:teacher ratio of 6:1, reflecting the support required to meet learners\’ needs.
The school is divided into two buildings on the same site, equipped with classrooms supporting sensory and regulation needs. It is located near local primary schools and Gracemount High School, enabling joint working and inclusion opportunities.
Kaimes School adopts a multi-agency approach, working closely with Educational Psychologists, the Additional Support for Learning Service, CAMHS Learning Disability Team, Allied Health Professionals, and third-sector partners. We also have an active Parent Council supporting our work.

This role involves regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the PVG Scheme. The preferred candidate will need to join or update their PVG Scheme check and provide any necessary overseas criminal record checks. Employment is contingent upon satisfactory completion of these checks.
