About Us

We are the largest operator of sport and leisure facilities in Trafford, with an annual turnover of £8 million and over 300 employees. Our bold vision is to inspire and create opportunities for the people of Trafford to move more and live longer, healthier, happier lives. This is a pivotal point in our evolution as Trafford Council’s multi-million-pound leisure investment programme is rolled out. This ambitious programme will see the portfolio of leisure centres transformed into fit-for-purpose, accessible, inspiring spaces under a new brand of “move” for future generations to come.

The Role

This is an ideal first step into the creative and marketing industry for a talented junior designer or recent graduate. You’ll join our small and ambitious marketing team, helping to bring the move brand to life through design and content. You’ll get stuck into designing social media graphics, supporting campaigns, photography, creating video content and even developing signage or branded merchandise. We’re not looking for perfection- we’re looking for someone creative, proactive and eager to learn. If you’re passionate about design that helps people live healthier, happier lives, this could be the start of something special. This role will be based at our support office; however, travel to our other sites in Sale, Stretford, and Urmston may be required to film content. You may also be expected to work occasional evenings or weekends to support events.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design Support: Create engaging visuals for digital and print, including posters, flyers, social posts and branded templates.
  • Social Content: Help design content for Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok, from quick graphics to animated Reels.
  • Video Editing: Edit short-form video content from mobile or GoPro footage (we’ll show you how).
  • Events & Campaigns: Support the delivery of campaign visuals, from concept sketches to final rollouts.
  • Photography: Regularly attend sites to support photography or behind-the-scenes content creation.
  • Learning & Development: Work closely with our Marketing Manager to learn, grow and develop your creative career.

Essential About You:

  • A degree or qualification in Graphic Design, Visual Communication or similar.
  • A portfolio that shows your design flair (uni projects welcome!).
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite - especially Photoshop, Illustrator, and InDesign.
  • Willingness to learn and try new things – from video editing to creating for social.
  • Good eye for layout, typography and colour, specifically using and enhancing the move and Trafford Leisure brands.
  • Passion for creating work that helps people move, thrive, and feel better.

Desirable

  • Familiar with basic animation tools.
  • Basic knowledge of video editing (Premiere Pro or similar).
  • Interest in fitness, wellbeing or sustainability.
  • Some knowledge of accessibility or inclusive design.
  • Passion for photography.
  • Ability to create engaging written copy that suits our target audiences.

What You Can Expect From Us

In addition to a fantastic working environment and the opportunity to make a real difference, we offer:

  • Work on real-world design projects that matter to thousands of local people.
  • Be part of an organisation that puts community, health and sustainability first.
  • Access to complimentary membership at all Trafford Leisure centres (worth up to ÂŁ450/year).
  • Enjoy hybrid working, flexible hours, and a supportive culture.
  • Collaborate in a small team where your ideas are heard.
  • Receive on-the-job mentoring and development opportunities.
  • 32 days’ holiday (rising to 38 days after 5 years, including bank holidays and Trafford Leisure days).

  • Cycle to Work scheme (saving up to 43% on a new bike).
  • Discounted fitness memberships for up to 5 family members or friends (worth up to ÂŁ300 per person per year).
