Job Summary
Part‑time Decontamination Services Technician (Grade A) within the Decontamination Services Team at AGH Solutions Ltd.
Working hours: Monday to Friday 5:00 pm‑10:00 pm. Saturday rota – 1 in 4, 8:00 am‑1:00 pm. Bank Holiday rota – 8:00 am‑12:00 pm. Applicant must be over 18 years of age.
Main Duties
- Undertake decontamination services duties and provide specialised decontamination of medical devices.
- Record all tasks on the Health Edge computerised traceability systems.
- Work in accordance with department work instructions and Quality Management systems.
- Provide supervision to Apprentice Decontamination Technicians.
- Plan own workload with limited supervision.
- Work involves exposure to blood and bodily fluids.
Qualifications
Essential
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent, or GCSE English, Maths at Grade C or above.
- Proven experience within a healthcare/manufacturing environment.
- Experience of customer relations, face‑to‑face and over the telephone.
- Ability to work independently and in a team.
- Knowledge of healthcare/industry health and safety and hygiene.
- Basic IT skills, basic English and Maths.
- Ability to work accurately under pressure.
- Good written and spoken communication skills.
Desirable
- Basic microbiology knowledge.
- Experience working within a quality system and standard operating procedures.
- Knowledge and experience in decontamination of reusable medical devices.
- Positive attitude towards change.
- Shows interest in the aims of the department.
